Organized by CRRCG with a solemn academy and music-cultural program yesterday in Tetovo were marked 250 years since the birth of the educator, people’s educator and abbot of Leshok, Kiril Pejcinovich - Tetoec.

The event was organized by the Commission for Relations between Religious Communities and Groups (CRRCG), in front of the plateau of the new administrative building of the Museum of the Tetovo region, the building known as the former Army House. 

A speech about the character and work of the educator Kiril Pejcinovich  was given by the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Mr. Mr. Stefan.

- We remember the 250th anniversary of the birth of our great clergyman at that time and circumstances, a prolific literary figure, writer, folk educator and priest, the abbot Kiril Pejcinovich Tetoec. All the mentioned descriptions of him fit his character and work, because mentioning him tonight and on this occasion, Father Kiril, we have in mind the memory of his person because of the church and folk work. What sense would it make for someone to remember someone's birth if there were no deeds that really conceived his existence, said in his address the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Mr. Mr. Stefan.

Director of the Commission for Relations between Religious Communities and Religious Groups, Darijan Sotirovski also spoke about Kiril Pejcinovich, as an important person whose work is called epochal and colossal.

- The abbot, educator and people’s teacher is one of the greatest of us. Why is his work so great? In a dark age of the 18th and 19th centuries, at a time when human life was not worth much, at a time when churches were being built below ground level, Kiril Pejcinovich lived and created a lot. In such a time he manages to renovate two monasteries - Leshok Monastery and Markov Monastery of St. Dimitrij in Skopje region. He manages to print a book in faraway Budim, to raise money for renovation of the Macedonian printing presses for his second book. Kiril Pejcinovich is an example that regardless of the circumstances we face as a nation, we can achieve great deeds. It is gratifying that in our region 250 years after his birth the memory of him is still strong, said Darijan Sotirovski.

Part of the event was an exhibition of one of the best Tetovo and Macedonian academic painters Pavle Kuzmanovski, and 24 works of art - portraits were exhibited.

- Portraits of important and famous people besides Kiril Pejcinovich are represented. We have a large number of Tetovo citizens who were known and recognized here and beyond in other cities and around the world, as well as other persons from the Republic and the world, said Pavle Kuzmanovski

A plaque for special social contribution and creation of lasting values ​​was awarded to organizations and institutions named after Kiril Pejcinovich as well as to individuals.

In the musical part of the program, two songs based on lyrics by Blazhe Koneski - "River" and "Prayer" were promoted.
