The Director of CRRCG Mr. Darijan Sotirovski attended the meeting of the religious leaders with the Prime Minister, Mr. Dimitar Kovacevski.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, the Minister of Interior, Oliver Spasovski and the Director of the Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and groups, Darijan Sotirovski, met with the leaders of the religious communities in the country: of the Macedonian Orthodox Church - Ohrid Archbishopric, the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia, Mr. Mr. Stefan, of the Islamic Religious Community, Reisul Ulema Haji Shakir Efendi Fetai, of the Catholic Church, Monsignor Kiro Stojanov, Bishop of Skopje and Strumica-Skopje Eparchy, with the President of the Jewish Community, Pepo Levi and Marjan Dimov – supeintendant of the Evangelical Methodist church.
Congratulations were expressed on the mandate of Prime Minister Kovacevski and the election of the new Government, as well as gratitude for today's first meeting, organized at the highest political level, which was assessed as dignified attention to religious communities and continued good cooperation with the Government.
Prime Minister Kovacevski said that good cooperation with religious communities will continue, with respect for all, that there are no unresolved issues when it comes to the principle of respect and dialogue and that he as Prime Minister and this politically stable Government are determined to continue and promote effective policies that work for the benefit of all citizens.
It was jointly concluded that the successful construction ofone society for all, in recent years, is a benefit for all citizens, and in that regard is emphasized the good cooperation between religious leaders, as a contribution to establishing mutual trust and respect between communities.
All religious leaders present at the meeting expressed support for Prime Minister Kovacevski and the Government to continue working as it started, with an open, honest and dignified approach to current issues of importance to citizens and the good future of the country.
At the meeting, several current issues were discussed, which were highlighted as important by the representatives of the religious communities present at the meeting.
