ON TODAY'S DAY: In memory of Archbishop Angelarij, who on this day 45 years ago was enthroned as Metropolitan of Debar-Kicevo. A function he held until his election as Head of the MOC.

After the death of Metropolitan Methodij of Debar-Kicevo, on July 5, 1977, exactly 45 years ago, Bishop Angelarij of Pelagonija was enthroned as his successor. He remained in the metropolitan position in the Debar-Kicevo diocese until his election as the Head of the restored Ohrid archdiocese in the face of the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC), which happened after the death of the restored Archbishop Dositej. There are numerous testimonies about the rich and tireless work of grandfather Angelarius. In fact, his tireless five-decade service to the Church was crowned by his election as the second Superior of the renewed MOC in 1981.
